*JOHN ARNOTT. Head pastor of the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship

Holy Laughter and Vineyard Church. Arnott is known for his part of the Toronto Blessing, which is part of the Rodney Howard Browne "Holy Laughter" movement.  Arnott invited Pastor Randy Clark of St. Louis to minister and impart his gift of the Holy Ghost at the Toronto Airport Church. Clark received his impartation of the spirit directly from Rodney Howard-Browne.  After Clark ministered to Arnott's charismatic assembly for several months, they (the assembly) now make all kinds of animal noises, laugh hysterically, go into spasms, stagger around, fall and become "drunk" in the Holy Spirit.  In addition they get     "glued" to the floor with Holy Ghost glue and can't move for hours. These are just some of the bizarre things they claim to have done in the name of the Holy Ghost.

Of the frightening manifestations in evidence during Toronto Blessing rituals, John Arnott says, "the problem is that they have been conditioned to believe that the Holy Spirit is a gentleman who would never do anything 'rough or impolite.'" "That,:" says Arnott, "is simply not true."  Arnott and his wife Carol have been heavily impacted by healer Kathryn Kuhlman and Vineyard's John Wimber.

WILLIAM BRANHAM

(Deceased) Branham began the Latter Rain Movement.  He was a faith healer and still is a stated mentor for many leading Pentecostals today.  He taught that the gifts of the Holy Spirit could be transmitted through the laying on of hands via a man who possessed such gifts.

He denied the Trinity and taught that it was a demonic doctrine. Even so he was still revered as a true prophet by almost every major Pentecostal and Charismatic ministry (who are Trinitarian).

Branham was especially revered by the Full Gospel Businessmen's Association which is still very active today and reaches even into the White House and the halls of Congress and the Senate.

Branham (along with a couple other old pioneers in the field) can rightfully be called the father of the modern day Charismatic phenomenon.

*TED HAGGARD, Founder, New Life Church (sponsored by Bethany World Prayer Center)

Haggard attended Oral Roberts University. He is currently serving on the board of the National Association of Evangelicals, the Colorado Spring Association of Evangelicals, Global Harvest Ministries (Peter Wagner), Every Home for Christ and the Center for Christian-Jewish Dialogue. Among other published books, He co-authored "Loving Your City Into The Kingdom" with Jack Hayford.

Haggard is a co-founder and director, along with C. Peter Wagner, of the World Prayer Center. The World Prayer Center is a communications center, serving the Church through the world by linking strategic prayer requests, practical needs, and reporting evangelistic breakthroughs. Dr. Peter Wagner sees it as a way to wage effective spiritual warfare. (Countering evil territorial spirits who must be overcome to win souls for Christ geographically.) Located in Colorado Springs, it includes the latest telecommunication systems, a spiritual mapping repository, classrooms, interactive touch screen monitors and the world's largest collection of prayer and spiritual warfare material.

*JACK HAYFORD, Pastor of the Church on the Way , Van Nuys, Ca.

Foursquare Church (Pentecostal)

Hayford is on the board of Promise Keepers. He spoke at their National Clergy Conference in 1996 in Atlanta. The purpose of this gathering, according to McCartney (founder of P.K.) was to "tear the hearts of pastors wide open so that a single leadership can be produced." Among the over 38,000 attendees were 600 Catholic priests.

He is also one of the founders and first officers of Charismatic Bible Ministries, a leadership organization initiated by Oral Roberts. Some other members are: Kenneth Copeland, David Yonggi Cho, Charles Capps, Morris Cerullo, Paul Crouch, Kenneth Hagin, Benny Hinn, Charles and Frances Hunter, Robert Tilton and Stephen Strang.

Hayford teaches that we are all little gods. He has often shared the stage with New Agers and Catholic leaders in unity movements.

He is quoted as saying "If and when we finally lay down these petty doctrinal and traditional differences and join together as an awesome united body and force, all hell will finally retreat into the abyss, and, together, we will bring back the king!...When will we realize that the enforcement of Christ's Victory is up to us?"

Hayford spoke for Revovare' at its 1991 Los Angeles Conference - Renovare' is an international, New Age, ecumenical organization that eminates from the religious traditions of Quakerism due to a New Age twist of Quakerism evidenced by its founder, Richard Foster, former professor of Theology at Friends University, Wichita KS. The message is that Christians are missing out on spiritual experiences that can only be found by studying and practicing the "meditative" and "contemplative" lifestyle of early Christianity. Actually it espouses the use of early pagan traditions of guided imagery and visualization, astral projections, "Zen" prayer techniques and Jungian psychology.

He (Hayford) spoke at the 1989 Billy Graham/Lausanne II conference with John Wimber, David Yonggi Cho, and Dick Eastman.

In 10/91 He visited Sydney, Australia with John Wimber to hold a "holiness conference"at which a number of Catholic priests also spoke.

Hayford has a vision of seeing Jesus seated in heaven and Jesus supposedly said, "I am beginning to rise now in preparation for my second coming..."

*STEVE HILL. Former head evangelist at the "Brownsville Outpouring" Assembly of God Church in Pensacola, Fla. Hill is involved with the Holy Laughter movement.

He picked up his ability to "slay people in the spirit" during his time at Holy Trinity Brompton in London (one of the main proponents of the Toronto Blessing). He brought the Toronto Blessing to Brownsville. Apparently his claims to have been a substance abuser are somewhat exaggerated in order to impress the audience.

An investigate series by the Pensacola News-Journal was done on both Steve Hill and John Kilpatrick. The following is regarding Hill's tactics for obtaining donations at a revival.

According to the Pensacola News-Journal:At the Memphis shindig, Hill tells the second-night audience "Last night didn't cut it,folks," referring to the receipts from the offering on night #1. He began his sermon, and collectors went through the audience for the offering, which they counted backstage. Hill interrupted the service two more times to request more money to try and meet his offering goals.

Still, a Memphis pastor, host of this event, reported that the two-day total of offerings was $6500 short of the goal to cover expenses, even through the total take was $123,500. Hill and this pastor, at different times, gave different accounts of the amount needed to cover the revival.

Incidentally, officials of the Pyramid Arena were contacted by Streater (PNJ reporter). They reported that an event like this would cost a minimum of $5000 or as much as $11,000 in stadium fees per night, depending on services required...So, the maximum amount for two nights for the arena and it services should be $22,000.

HOLY LAUGHTER, Founder, Rodney Howard-Brown

Brown affectionatly calls himself "The Holy Ghost Bartender." Not known for his humility or for being "low key," Brown is introduced in "A History of the Revival of 1993-1995 ,"by Protestant historian Richard M. Riss, "...Rodney had an increasing spiritual hunger which resulted in his calling out one night during a prayer meeting, ‘God, either you come down here tonight and touch me, or I’m going to die and come up there and touch you.’ Next, the persistent young man began to shout. For twenty minutes he shouted out, ‘God, I want your fire.’ Understandably, his activities frightened most of those present. But, presumably, his prayer was answered." The following is excerpted from a Vineyard account (by Riss) of the event: "He (Rodney) said it was as though all of a sudden somebody had taken gasoline and put a lighted match to it. The fire of God fell upon him instantaneously, and he was immersed in the liquid fire of the Holy Spirit. He became completely inebriated in the Holy Ghost. He was beside himself. Overflowing, he laughed uncontrollably. He went from laughter to weeping to tongues, back to laughter and weeping again. Four days later, the glory of God was still upon him, and by this time he was saying, ‘God lift it. I can’t bear it anymore...Lord, I’m too young to die, don’t kill me now.’" (Reported in "The Orator" Vol.6, #1...Jan/Feb. 1995)

Just so folks who plan to attend the St. Louis "Celebrate Jesus 2000" know that this is the origin of the Charismatic phenomenon enjoined by the Catholics and celebrated by the Archbishop of St. Louis.

                                                        HOLY LAUGHTER

Holy laughter, besides uncontrollable hysterical laughing, includes falling, fainting, shaking, making animal noises, such as roaring, barking, mooing, and oinking and even convulsing in a suggestive manner. These manifestations are being seen across denominational lines among Evangelical, Catholics, Anglicans, Pentecostals, Mormons, Seventh Day Adventists and even in those who are secular and unbelieving. It started with Rodney Howard-Browne who passed the power of impartation on to Randy Clark, who passed it along to John Arnott and the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship. They in turn passed it along to Holy Trinity Brompton Church in London, who imparted it to Steve Hill who passed it along to John Kilpatrick at Pensacola. (Arnott, Hill and Kilpatrick are all particpants in this St. Louis Celebrate Jesus 2000 event)The Grand Rapids Assembly of God got it from a direct impartation from the Pensacola Assembly of God. From there it has spread like wildfire.

Holy Laughter has been endorsed by, among other charismatics, Oral and Richard Roberts, Marilyn Hickey, Paul and Jan Crouch, Karl Strader, Larry Tomszak, Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn and John Wimber.

*CINDY JACOBS, President and Co-founder, Generals of Intercession

One of ministers who was involved in the early 1990's revival (fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit, falling down and getting drunk in the Holy Spirit , holy laughter, etc.) along with Claudio Freidzon of Buenos Aries, Argentina, Rodney M. Howard-Browne, a South African evangelist and Mahesh Chavda of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Part of Peter Wagner's "Building Foundations for Revival" Mobilizing Apostles, Prophets and Intercessors Conference. ($166,000 was made at this conference)

Jacobs has been quoted by Peter Wagner as saying that "We have been fighting against The Queen of Heaven" identified as the Holy Mother of God along with pagan goddesses.  (source - Trish Tillon’s web site.)

*RICK JOYNER, Prophet, Editor of Morning Star Magazine

Vineyard movement

He is an east coast minister who is heavily involved with Grace Ministries (A ministry started under the Kansas City Fellowship)

"What is about to come upon the earth is not just a revival, or another awakening, it is a veritable revolution. The vision was given in order to begin to awaken those who are destined to radically change the course, and even the very definition of Christianity. The dismantling of organizations and disbanding of some works will be a positive and exhilarating experience for the Lord's faithful servants.

"Rick Joyner has identified 'Antichrist' as the orthodox church"

KANSAS CITY PROPHETS FELLOWSHIP Founded by Mike Bickel and Paul Cain

Vineyard Church, Latter Rain

Among other things teaches Restoration Theology which means the churches are returning to the early days of the church. They claim to be restoring theology and the offices of the early church. They also believe that currently operating churches should join the KCF and then shut down, until there is only a single church leadership remaining in each city. (This will not be the Catholic Church.)

Many, if not most of their leadership claims to speak and hear on a direct line to Almighty God and have been known to threaten anyone who opposes them with death if they do not fall into line. This (Kansas City Prophets) is a solid connection to Ralph Martin and the Catholic Charismatics also through Paul Cain and John Wimber.

*JOHN KILPATRICK, Head Pastor at the "Brownsville Outpouring" Assembly of God Church in Pensacola.

"Holy laughter movement"

In 1995 Kilpatrick asked evangelist Steve Hill to speak at Brownsville on Father's Day. As he and Hill and another man stood on the platform praying, he heard a sound like a "rushing mighty wind". As Kilpatrick looked over his shoulder, he said his ankles slipped, his knees bows out, and a sudden "river of the glory of God" moved between his legs. It felt like a telephone pole, he said. "An endless telephone pole was coming through my legs and it was coming in the church. He suddenly jumped to the pulpit and screamed, "My God, church, get in! This is it! This is what we've been praying for! Get in!". He also said "I'm drunk, my legs is wobbly, I can barely stand up..and I saw bodies going every which way...just flying, going down like a hurricane coming through and pulling trees down..." According to the Pensacola leadership who deal them out liberally,"...the signs and miracles are what actually turn people to Christ, not the Word of God"

A week-long series was conducted by the Pensacola New-Journal examining Brownsville Assembly of God finances, its iconology and its stated achievements by a special investigative team at the Journal. It focused on the leaders' (Kilpatrick and Hill) lifestyles, finances, and claims, as well as the stated uses the revival makes off its income.

The investigative reporter summarizes the main findings in her head-in story. The genesis of the revival as told by Pastor John Kilpatrick and evangelist Steve Hill does not match what was found by the PNJ. Hill's life story (as he told it) doesn't match the facts (as he admitted to the PNJ.)

The upper echelon of Brownsville leaders will not disclose financial details, but each is amassing a considerable windfall from the revival and its "products" through their own nonprofit corporations.

Revival claims that they contribute much of the offering take to charity or mission work are not borne out by their skeletal financial statements obtained by the PNJ.

Kilpatrick and Hill have both started exhibiting trappings of lavish living and obfuscation. Land and other worldly trapping of wealth are being amassed.

Kilpatrick has stated that people criticizing or questioning the BAG's means will be sternly punished by God.

The revival claims that its presence has reduced crime and generally improved the area. The PNJ investigations show otherwise.

LATTER RAIN MOVEMENT Founder, William Branham who is deceased.  His teachings include::

Restoration of fivefold ministry

Restoration of personal prophecy

The impartation of spiritual gifts through laying on of hands, deliverance, healing and baptism of the Spirit through laying on of hands.

Denominationalism seen as "Babylonian Captivity"

A man-child elite group of overcomers will take dominion over all nations and reign "in the heavenlies" while overseeing drastic judgment on all who remain in the "old Generation"..i.e. the denominational churches.

They )(Latter Rain) promise a Second Pentecost outpouring to empower this elite group, and to incarnate the Christ within them to the degree that they would be perfect, invincible and immortal.

They teach Replacement Theology which means the Church is Israel.

They teach new revelation and secret doctrines that only the overcomers can understand.

There will be a restoration of the apostles and prophets which fulfills the need of discipling in the Body and submission to Elders to bring about the perfecting of the saints. This is part of the "Shepherding Movement". From the beginning Ralph Martin was associated with the Shepherding Movement...joining up with the five original Shepherds located in Florida back in the '60s.  They formed a secret association called "The Council" which ruled the followers in communal fashion through fear based on apocalyptic dread.

Unity of all believers is necessary since Jesus cannot incarnate into a divided body.

They are to become the Manifest Sons of God which is the mighty army of perfected beings who can sin no more and whom  the Lord called Joel's Army. Frighteningly enough, there are these Protestant perfectionists who walk the earth today and who can't wait for their time to rule with Jesus for the one-thousand years...(a mistaken interpretation of the Bible to begin with.)

There will be amazing signs and wonders as they lead a glorious worldwide endtimes harvest until all God's enemies are destroyed. These enemies include the old religious generation of denominational Christians who reject the new teachings. Jesus cannot return until all God's enemies are destroyed

The Charistmatic Renewal and the Restoration Movement are heavily inbued with Latter Rain teachings. Kingdom Now, Manifest Sons of God, Shepherding Movement, Reconstructionists. Dominion Theology, Word Faith, The Prophetic Move, The Laughing Revival, Signs and Wonders etc. are all in one way or the other offshoots or heavily influenced by Latter Rain doctrine. Nearly everyone involved in the St. Louis "Celebrate Jesus 2000 is directly or indirectly involved with Latter Rain teachings. William Branham can rightly be seen as a root of the Charismatic movement. That root is plainly not Jesus Christ or His Church.  It is occult and Branham.

*RICHARD ROBERTS, President, Oral Roberts University

Holy Laughter

He is the son of Oral Roberts. Both he and his father have endorsed the holy laughter movement of Rodney Howard-Browne.

In 1993, during Rodney Howard-Browne's four week visit to the Carpenter's Home Church in Lakeland, Florida, Richard Roberts attended and participated and ministered in this new anointing. Oral Roberts told Howard-Browne that when he preached at the Carpenter's Home Church, the Spirit of the Lord fell on Richard and he couldn't preach.

He fell down and laughed and laughed. Richard Roberts said the "fresh baptism" stayed with him and on the way home on the plane he began to laugh uncontrollably.

*PAT ROBERTSON, Host of the "700 Club" on CBN/TBN, Prophetic movement.

Endorses the "holy Laughter Movement" of Howard Rodney Brown

Proponent of the Word-Faith Movement (Mind over Matter)

Robertson graduated from Yale University and the New York Theological Seminary. He is Chairman of the United States Media Corporation, Chairman of Northstar Entertainment Group, President of the American Center for Law and Justice, President of Operation Blessing International Relief and Development Corporation and Chancellor of Regent University.

In 1989 he started the Christian Coalition, a big time political action organization. He has supported and encouraged participation in acts of civil disobedience, such as Randall Terry's Operation Rescue. Robertson was the main speaker to a packed stadium of pro-lifers who had participated in (the now disgraced due to his womanizing) Randall Terry’s 1991 "Summer of Mercy" in Wichita, Kansas which featured more pro lifers going to jail over the abortion issue than ever before or since in the issue’s history.

The 700 Club has often given New Age interests a platform. (Robertson himself sometimes calls God "The Initiator" and teachers the doctrines of "God Immanent" and "God Transcendent," all common New Age terminology. Some of the prominent New Agers ;who have appeared on the 700 Club include Norman Cousins, Jeremy Rifkin, Herbert Benson, John Naisbitt, Alvin Toffler, Amory and Hunter Lovins, Curtis Sliwa, The Buckminster Fuller Institute, and Mother Earth News.. Also appearing have been Richard Foster (of Renovare'), Bruce Larson, (who claims Carl Jung, an occultist and anti-Christian, is one of his heros), Robert Schuller, and Denis Waitley.

In 1985 he celebrated "International Forgiveness Week" (an old time Lucis Trust project.)

Although he claims to be premillennial he is very much reconstructionist/Dominion Theology in practice.

Robertson, like most charismatics, claims to receive additional revelation from God on a regular and consistent basis. He claims God speaks to him in an audible voice. He also apparently considers himself a prophet.

"God spoke through a word of prophecy in May 1968 and said,"I have chosen you

{meaning Robertson, ed.} to usher in the coming of My son."

"Robertson also announced that the Christian Broadcasting Network will provide worldwide coverage of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ from the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem."

*STEVE STRANG Founder and President, Strang Communications Company

Strang publishes "Charisma Magazine". Charisma endorsed the revival at Brownsville Assembly of God in Pensacola, Fl.

"Charisma" is a constant source of information and news stories on Charismatic people and events around the world. Never known for objective writing, it is perhaps the strongest advocate and "leader" into the Charismatic movement around.

VINEYARD MOVEMENT, founded by John Wimber

A hyper-charismatic organization which considers itself to be the "Third Wave". (the first being the Pentecostal Revival, the second the Charismatic Movement.) They are also identified as the "Signs and Wonders Movement," and "Power Theology". It began with John Wimber's affiliation with a small group of Southern California churches and has now expanded to the Association of Vineyard Church with 450 U.S. churches and another 250 abroad.

Teachings:

Dependence on experience rather than Scripture. The Vineyard members can work with anyone who claims to be Christian. They encourage reunification with the Catholic church and claim the Pope is an evangelical Christian. At the same time, they work to convert Catholics through involvement with their "cells." Because the cells are highly political and highly social action oriented, sooner or later, participants are led to believe that worshipping on Sunday in a Pastor led church is a matter of choice and that it is merely frosting on the real cake of the work they do in the cells-which are the REAL church. (March 16th sermon on tape of a Vineyard church in Kansas.)

Acceptance of occult/New Age practices in "Christian" forms, such as aura reading, the teaching of "inner healing," astral projection, contact with familiar spirits, and psychological and occult methodologies.

A mystical view of spiritual warfare that comes dangerously close to spiritism.

Although Jesus was fully divine, He set aside His divinity while on earth. His miracles were accomplished as only a human through the power of the Holy Sprit. So man can perform the same signs and wonders that Jesus did through the Holy Spirit's empowerment.

It is inherently Dominionist/Kingdom Now/Reconstructionist in it's theology (which are

all offshoots of Latter Rain)

C. PETER WAGNER, President, Global Harvest Ministries, Anaheim, Ca.

President, World Prayer Center, and Chancellor of the Wagner Leadership Institute. Vineyard Movement

He heads the World Prayer Center with Ted Haggard. He is a disciple of John Wimber. He and Wimber founded the Vineyard Christian Fellowship and co-instructed the course "Signs, Wonders and Church Growth" at Fuller Seminary. He is a recognized authority in both world missions and church growth. He was drawn to signs and wonders by observing that church growth was most rapid among the Pentecostal and Charismatic ranks.

Heads up the "New Apostolic Reformation." His colleague Donald Miller calls this movement "the New Paradigm Churches" He calls for a new name, a new authority structure, a new ministry focus, a new worship style. The centerpiece of this reformation is the launching of new apostles and prophets. This is just a rehash of Latter Rain teaching.

He had a great impact on the philosophy of John Wimber. He is an alleged expert on church growth (cells and clusters) and a strong proponent of signs and wonders for the purpose of Church Growth. He is also a long time affiliate with Billy Graham's Lausanne Movement.

He is heavily involved with spiritual warfare and engaging territorial spirits (evil spirits) as part of ministry. He advocates strategic level spiritual warfare prayer against territorial spirits.. He notes the need to discover the names of the territorial spirits as part of a "spiritual mapping" process.

He emphasizes confronting the "Queen of Heaven" whom he advocates has taken on many forms such as the goddess Diana, the Japanese Sun Goddess, the Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico, in Calcutta as Cali and one her current disguises is that of the Virgin Mary as venerated by Roman Catholics.

JOHN WIMBER, Founder of the Vineyard Movement

(deceased)

He began the "signs and wonders" movement with Sam Thompson , licensed psychologist, by combining psychological theory with charismatic practices. The emphasis is on "spiritual power". Among other things Wimber taught that supernatural practices beginning to emerge were of the Lord, and to be desired and pursued (i.e., hot, tingly sensations indicating healing taking place during prayer: trance-like euphoric states of "worship" characterized by a restful "alpha-wave"-type feeling, which is verification of the "presence" of the Lord; supposed "words of knowledge," "discerning of spirits," "personal prophecy,", etc.

All the horrible manifestations that occur with Toronto Blessing, Pensacola Outpouring and other copycat revivals can be directly attributed to Wimber.

He was a speaker at Scanlan's Steubenville Leaders Conference (16-18 June '95). One report says that as soon as he prayed with the group the typical chaotic manifestations erupted.

He was a close associate of C. Peter Wagner.

Even though he and John Arnott had a parting of ways, he had reiterated his belief that the Holy Laughter Movement was a move from God.

Participated in the Lausanne II Evangelical conference in Manila in 1989.

Wimber often shared the stage with Ralph Martin of EWTN and Word of God Community.  Martin has been quite at home with these bizarre manifestations for sometime it would appear.

MORE ON WHO IS REALLY WHO/CELEBRATE JESUS 2000

FATHER MICHAEL SCANLON: Father Scanlon has achieved international notice as the head of Franciscan University at Steubenville as well as a member of the Vatican approved "New Evangelization" team. Father Scanlon is well known in Charismatic circles, claiming to have "really found" Jesus years ago through his involvement with Cursillo – a Charismatic movement associated with Hispanic culture. A book by John DeTar, MD entitled TO DECEIVE THE ELECT spends a great deal of time documenting and presenting the case that Cursillo is actually Communist in the end.

Scanlon was associated in his early days with a cult like commune known as Servants of Christ the King that was investigated by the local Bishop, disciplined and forced to sever its ties with "Sword of the Spirit" (an offshoot of the Ann Arbor Word of God Community run by fellow New Evangelization team member Ralph Martin and sidekick Steve Clark. In very strong language, Bishop Ottenweller of Steubenville charged in a letter that "the lives of members have been controlled by coordinators and heads...(members) were forced to accept patterns of living, relationships, even the choice of marriage partners, and that great psychological harm had been done." He charged that the Servants of Christ the King had..."an arrogance that is elitist...a lack of compassion and love for those in need, and a fundamentalist outlook in scripture on the world as evil, and an unhealthy secrecy about the affairs of the community." Father Scanlon was not a mere participant, but the founder of Servants of Christ the King.

Scanlon instituted the "households" at Franciscan University at Steubenville which some ex-members of Word of God say is to prepare the students for the questionable communitarian (see more in the cell-church communitarian lifestyle promoted by the Evangelical"new church" joined, apparantly by their Catholic Charismatic friends) style living that Word of God represents. This should come as no surprise when one reads such statements as "I just want to make it clear about the Franciscan University of Steubenville. IT IS the Power of the Holy Spirit. IT IS being baptized in the Holy Spirit. IT IS the Charismatic Renewal that launched and is reponsible for the growth and maturity of this University, and I thank God for that." (Father Michael Scanlon at the 30th anniversary of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal held in Pittsburgh, Pa., June 1997.)

Do good Catholic parents, convinced that Steubenville represents only Orthodox Catholicism due to the promotional help of EWTN realize that they are actually turning their children over to Charismatic Catholicism as opposed to Orthodoxy as known throughout modern history? Do they realize that their children may subconsciously be prepared to live a communal life that more often than not turns totalitarian despite the best of intentions?

Is it only the Charismatic and communal that has connections to Father Scanlon? Not really. For instance, one of Father Scanlon’s strongest political allies just happened (s?) to be a man named Dick Prosser. Prosser was a top aide to Saul Alinsky…"The Main Man" who is responsible for most of the problems within the Catholic Church even today…(Call to Action – Detroit in the turbulent ‘60’s) Alinsky acknowledged Lucifer as their leader in the book RULES FOR RADICALS. Wouldn’t you know that it would be Dick Prosser who would turn up "on a July morning 1968" (LET THE FIRE FALL, p.79) to help Father Scanlon establish a reputation as a community person able to bring peace among men on a community level –at the same time he established himself as the head of the Franciscan University of Steubenville.

Father Scanlon is a part of the New Evangelization team along with Ralph Martin, Father Tom Forrest (head of this team) and Father Benedict Groeschel who also has some very strange alliances, although he is not a part of the St. Louis extravaganza known as "Celebrate Jesus 2000."

RALPH MARTIN: Ralph Martin has been around for a long time and is well known in Charismatic circles and to people who tune in to EWTN. Martin had a unlikely introduction to Catholicism …having been most of his young adult life an agnostic at best, atheist at worst. He too, like Scanlon, tuned into the highly emotional and highly questionable Cursillo, along with friend, Steve Clark. It was like – well, an instant conversion, as such emotional experiences often are. Martin and Clark proceeded to procure jobs at the University of Michigan’s Catholic Newman Center – from which they were subsequently fired when the Pastor discovered they were actually implementing the methodology of Bill Bright’s Campus Crusade (Protestant Evangelical and connected to many of the participants in St. Louis/Celebrate Jesus 2000 whose aim it is to create a New Church!) Martin has led the Word of God Community in Ann Arbor for a number of years now - a community which came under many of the same criticisms as those leveled at Father Scanlon’s Servants of Christ the King.

Martin is a promoter of the un-approved apparitions at Medjugorje as evidenced by his speaking in favor of and promoting the books of Sister Emmanuel and Dennis Nolan in Topeka, Kansas, April 1999. Both of these Medjugorje activists are cast under a cloud of suspicion by claiming credibility at Vatican level that does not exist, and questionable money. Sister Emmanuel, by the way is not a Catholic nun, despite the title.

Martin should feel right at home with these Protestant Dominionists, Reconstuctionists, Shepherding controllers of the Protestant ilk, for in the early days of the Charismatic communal living arrangements such as Word of God, Martin and Clark teamed up with the original Shepherding Five - Protestant lay leaders who include Bob Mumford (Randall Terry’s Shepherd) and formed a super-secret group called "The Council" which held their followers in line through apocalyptic prophecies that instilled fear and timidity. Martin went on to make appearances with Paul Cain and John Wimber (Latter Rain) who are leaders in the Charismatic/Prophetic/Apocalyptic movements designed to control people through fear and dread. It would appear, as in all these movements, that the singing, swaying and praising serve to cover up devastated personalities.

Father Tom Forrest. Our information is that Father Forrest is the International Director of the "New Evangelization." Father Forrest also has some interesting ties to the Protestant Evangelical new church/new age movement. For instance, he has endorsed Jay Gary’s book THE STAR by writing a praise for Gary and the book in the forward of such book. Jay Gary has numerous New Age affiliations and his book does nothing to erase any uneasiness one might have about his credentials as a Christian. In an urgent report entitled "Celebration 2000 and Jay Gary" Rev. David C. Kanz and others point out that Gary’s credentials should be perfect: 1986: Worked with the Lausanne Movement as Program Director; 1988-89 worked to implement various "Christian" works associated with World Evangelism, and then, about 1990 launched the BEGIN (Bimillennial Global Interaction Network) later known as Celebration 2000 when the first signs appeared that there was a "fly in the ointment." Gary linked up with occultists and spiritists at about this point - men like Robert Muller of the U.N. It was also about this point that Gary connected with Project Global 2000 through its (sadly) Catholic connected Gerald and Patricial Mische and their Global Education Associates of New York. Global 2000 and its head Gerald Barney stand for the planned deaths of at least 2 billion people worldwide to solve the population problem which is blamed for most of the world’s ills. Gary was now into a partnership with death!

In addtion to that, Gary seems to have become enamoured of Hans Kung, the syncretistic (disgraced by the Vatican) ex-priest. According to both the book and the urgent report, Gary quotes from Kung on page 33 of STAR OF 2000 very favorably calling for a "new kind of pluralism" in religion...one which would result in world peace, no doubt by wiping out all differences simply by "saying so" rather than telling the truth and confronting it...which is why we have not been able to solve the differences so far! Remember that Jesus said he came to "bring division" and we need to understand that well. Its all about truth and being faithful to it. Only God can bring THAT KIND of peace to the world and that is when the world is ready for truth.

There is more - such as with the endorsement of Muller comes Muller’s passion for Barbara Marx Hubbard who calls for us to "love Satan" the oldest son of God so that he can be forgiven and claim his rightful place - oh well!

Again, what is Father Tom doing here? Why, if he is brilliant enough to head up the International New Evangelization for the Vatican, can’t he figure out the New Age bent here? He shares the cherished "New" Evangelization team with Ralph Martin, Scott Hahn, Father Michael Scanlon, and Father Benedict Groeschel who also tips into the New Age with his part in the occult St. John the Divine Cathedral presentation of Missa Gaia in honor of "Mother" Earth...nothing could be more New Age!

So do all the Catholic participants in the St. Louis "event" of Celebrate Jesus 2000 have "baggage?" The answer is Yes! Catholics deserve to know some answers and we hope that those of you who "stumble" across our humble effort to alert you - ask those questions. Thank you for your time. The Writers of "Catholic Thought."
